against the "wise monk" voice
i've been noticing something when i read posts here on bear. similar to how there's a "voice" for certain platforms, like the reddit smarminess, or the millennial voice to posts on social media, there's one showing up here. there's some sort of tone to some posts that's trying to sound like there's something incredibly deep, and i'm not entirely sure why. i have always been a huge proponent of not trying to appear smart to others and instead proving through the content, not your tone that you're saying something with value. i'm hoping that this is only a few people who have this unfortunate approach to writing, but please, dare to embrace the idea you might not be the smartest one in the room and just be a person not a poster.
