I think the issue with the Twitter clone isn't the platform
I see folks still trying to find the perfect Twitter replacement and I think that it's one of the things out there that you're better off without. Trying to abide by my own "no explicit negativity" rule here, but I'm not entirely sure why folks think this is a necessity. Bluesky is a platform I've bailed from after realizing the only thing that meaningfully changed is the population ratios and the lack of a bot creating GenAI CSAM constantly. Mastodon has the issue of being just one you cannot convince most folks of the worth of, but I think end of day, there simply isn't a need for this stuff.
If there is a role for these microblogging platforms in the style of twitter, It's to passively read it as a news source and more so the the actual news, you can just lie on these places, rendering the news aspect even a bit suspect. I'm not here to be a judgy middle aged man, but I'm not really sure these style of social media sites still have a useful role for the average human.
