Leaving behind Bluesky for the most part
I was really hyped when twitter "died" for the folks that I actually cared about, cause it meant that there'd be movement on Bluesky. That was very cool for a while, but now it's just got all the demon stuff that twitter used to. I think the big thing is realizing that no matter how new, how shiny, how interesting a social media, it just will never be a forum. Yochai Gal's post on the matter manages to express a lot of what I feel with regards to the forum still being the ideal shape for some communities and how they communicate, and I really urge you to read it, especially if you're in the TTRPG realm.
I do not see there being a future where I really want to use social media platforms for anything unless someone manages to truly innovate in the space (I won't hold my breath, I assume the next one will be an NFT/AI/Crypto powered abomination)
