What I've come to understand about productivity

Incredibly LinkedIn ass title I know but bear with me. I'm a pretty big scatter brain and I get what I need done done most days, but recently I've started using a task tracking app to try and hold myself more accountable for the things I need to do and I came to a realization. I've long written off a lot of the "productivity preachers" as it's often adjacent to the hustle culture, side gig, work 70 hour weeks poison that's infiltrated our media landscape, but I think I'm a productivity guy. I just don't think it's productivity in that way. I use my task tracker to make sure I spend time playing with my dogs, writing stuff for myself, even simple things like making my partner dinner a few times a week. I think the big thing that clicked was trying to figure out what was important in life and maximizing that with the same techniques you would to hit quarterly goals or whatever other bullshit folks do a their jobs.
